Clarity Counseling is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure our mental health resources, including our accessibility statement, are available to all members of our community. Our accessibility statement outlines our commitment to providing accessible services.
Our Commitment
Our accessibility statement also highlights the various resources we provide to enhance accessibility for all individuals.
We believe that mental health support should be barrier-free. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide array of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Measures to Support Accessibility
We believe that every accessibility statement we create should reflect our dedication to inclusion and support.
Clarity Counseling takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Regularly reviewing the site for color contrast and font legibility.
- Ensuring all images contain descriptive “Alt Text” for screen reader users.
- Maintaining a logical heading structure to help users navigate via assistive technology.
- Ensuring that all contact forms and scheduling tools are keyboard accessible.
ADA Compliance & Non-Discrimination Notice
Our compliance with the ADA is detailed in our accessibility statement, which outlines our efforts to prevent discrimination.
Clarity Counseling complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We do not discriminate, exclude people, or treat them differently because of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
To ensure effective communication and equal access to our counseling services, Clarity Counseling provides:
- Auxiliary Aids and Services: We offer free aids to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as qualified sign language interpreters or written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats).
- Language Services: We provide free language services to people whose primary language is not English, including qualified interpreters and information in other languages.

Website Accessibility Tool Tips
How to Zoom in on Your Screen
- On Windows, press the Windows key and the plus sign (+) together to zoom in. You can also use the “Magnifier” application under “Accessories.”
- On Mac, go to “System Preferences,” open “Universal Access,” and select the “Seeing” tab. Check the box under “Zoom” to turn it “On.”
- On your Apple device, tap “Settings,” then “General,” then “Accessibility.” Tap the “Zoom” button and toggle it “On.”
- Another trick is to use “Ctrl” (“Cmd” on Mac) and the plus (+) or minus (-) keys when you are in a web browser.
Changing Font Colors and Styles
It is important for organizations to maintain an updated accessibility statement to reflect ongoing improvements.
Most major web browsers offer options to do this:
- In Internet Explorer, go to “Tools,” then “Internet Options,” then to “General.” From here, select “Color, Fonts, or Accessibility.”
- In Mozilla Firefox, choose “Options,” then “Content,” and finally, “Fonts & Colors.”
- In Chrome, go to “Preferences,” activate the “Show advanced settings” link, go to the “Web content” section, and adjust the “Font size,” “Customize fonts,” or set the default “Page zoom.”
We recommend using a combination of settings, such as increasing the font size and zooming in the browser, to improve the experience.
How to Find and Use a Screen Reader
Screen readers are text-to-speech software that help people read and interact with content in different ways. Many individuals who cannot see the screen use them to access web content audibly. Clarity Counseling designs and codes with accessibility in mind. We aim to make sure our content works well with screen readers.
There are free options available, including NVDA for Windows and “VoiceOver” for Mac. We recommend JAWS for Windows, which you can use with your favorite web browser.
Clarity Counseling’s accessibility statement emphasizes the importance of utilizing accessible technologies.
Screen readers accept input in various ways, but the most common is through your keyboard. For example, you can navigate through page items by pressing the down arrow in JAWS. JAWS also accepts Braille input.
Using Accessibility Tools on a Mobile Device
There are many notable features on your smartphone. Both iOS and Android offer a range of tools to help you access what you love. Let’s look at a few of these tools:
- VoiceOver for iOS and TalkBack for Android are built-in screen readers.
- To turn on VoiceOver, go to “Settings,” then “General,” then “Accessibility,” and then enable “VoiceOver.” You can also set the “Accessibility Shortcut” to “VoiceOver” from the “Accessibility” page by triple-clicking the “Home” button to toggle VoiceOver on and off. TalkBack has a similar feature.
- Other features and tools on iOS include “Zoom,” “Magnifier,” “Invert Colors,” “Color Filters,” and “Reduce White Point,” all accessible through the “Accessibility Shortcut.”
